Hello.
Could someone (a home owner) please tell me how the land registry number works?
In particular, I"m wondering what the two numbers before and after the slash represents.
Does it have a permanent part and a changeable part?
For exaple, the numero predial I have for the place I purchased has a three digit number preceded by two 0s, a slash, then a five digit number preceded by a 0, as in this made-up number:
00123/ 045678
And I've noticed recently that the former owners of the house are represented on the Inscrições-Averbamentos-Anotações page by the second number (045678) and I have a completely different number ascribed to me in the following manner:
G-1 Ap.01/ 045678- Aquisição a favor de Jorge Domingos etc. etc.
G-2 Ap.08/140234-Aquisição a favor de Kim, etc. etc.
Does this mean that the second part changes with each purchase?
If I wanted to get the up-to-date certificate this year on-line, what do I use as the numero predial?
00123/045678? (as in the very first certificate I got from the solicitor 4 months after the purchase?)
00123/140234? (substituting the former owner's acquisiition number with mine in the second part?)
I'm totally confused about this. Please help me figure it out so I can order the certificate on-line for 30 euros + mail delivery at www. portaldocidadao.pt./PORTAL/pt
I'm on the other side of the ocean and it has been difficult figuring it out on my own. I can call the Portuguese consulate, I suppose, but thought it might be easier asking people who have a first hand knowledge of it.
