New!
m3a is an island based organisation where members can take part in activities organised by other members. It is a non - profit organisation and annual membership is a mere 10 euros. Members can attend as many groups as they wish.
This is open to all the English-speaking community of Madeira, whatever their nationality, who have the time to share their skills and knowledge with others.
This is an opportunity to stimulate 'the old grey matter' and get involved with others in a variety of interest groups. The m3a university can offer a new dimension to your life and is open to ALL ages!
New!
Last year Photography was enjoyed by a small group of enthusiasts keen to get the most out of their cameras. Members found that the course enabled them to see the world in a new light and to discover features of their automatic cameras that they never knew existed.
A new course will start in October, covering new subjects each fortnight. Anyone wishing to join will be able to follow the course whilst additional sessions will be offered in the alternate weeks to repeat last year´s work.
We are a group of ex-pats who are fascinated by the geology of the Madeiran Archipelago; how and when the island first appeared and how volcanic forces and erosion have created the dynamic landscape we see today.
The group will mould to members’ interests and could include aspects of wildlife and ecology, such as colonisation and how new and endemic species evolve.
We love to work with anyone who has an interest in writing and anyone can join the group at any time. We are keen to have a wide range of interests and genres and to work in a mutually supportive way. Please, even if you are completely new to writing – come along and give it a go. Writing can be a very solitary activity and this is a wonderful opportunity to have like-minded and supportive people to share it with.
Every month members can meet up with other members and bring along freinds and family who may be interested in joining the m3a. On the last Friday in each month a dinner is held, rotating the venues around key parts of the island so that everyone can have fun, chat and meet new people.
Book club is for members who would simply enjoy sharing reading experiences. Every Book Club varies considerably depending on its members and so we really would like this group to progress with the dynamics of those who come.
Every Friday morning at 11am Irena holds a space for those who wish to join her in exploring how the practice of meditation can benefit every aspect of our lives. We all come from different backgrounds, with varying rich experiences of life, and sharing these, we are all able to learn and grow. We are not a religious group.
These are just a few ideas of what the m3a is offering at the moment. It doesn't matter what age you are or where you live to be a part of the m3a. Groups are run by the members themselves and m3a are always looking for ideas and volunteers to run more groups across the island. If you are interested in joining the m3a or would like to attend a group or run one yourself, please contact us by visiting our website below:
